Dromod is a noted fishing village on Loughs Bofin and Boderg, which are threaded by the River Shannon. Many visitors arrive via the lovely harbour area which is very popular with cruiser traffic. Not far from the Brandywell is The Bog Oak water feature in the centre of the village entitled “The Weeping Tree’. It was crafted locally from a piece of bog oak which was found nearby. The Cavan & Leitrim Railway Museum is also a big attraction in the village with its restored train station, locomotives, planes and vintage automobiles.
Dromod is a past Tidy Towns winner and comes alive with colourful floral displays in the summer months which alone warrants a visit.
